The m.a.d.woman foundation has done our best to spread some Christmas in July cheer today at lunches for people supported by the Prahran and Sacred Heart Missions. Tonight more of our handmade crackers will go out through the St Vinnies soup van through Melbourne, Fitzroy and Collingwood. Just under 500 lives touched (as are our hearts). Thanks again to the team at Metro Property Management for your support. Advertisements
With winter just around the corner, we urgently need some help to fund materials for our care packs. There are more than 105,000 people sleeping rough in Australia and about 35,000 are children. There are many kids and their mothers fleeing domestic violence situations and living in temporary accommodation without their possessions. There are also many disadvantaged families who lack some of the basics we take for granted. We’ve helped more than 300,000 people in the past six years and are on a mission to help as many other people as possible, starting with beanies, blankets, bibs and much more. Each ticket we sell to this event can help us fund items for up to 10 of our most vulnerable citizens – so you get a great night at the same time as helping others. We look forward to seeing you, your friends and family – tickets are available at http://www.madwoman.com.au/gala
Our mates at Visy not only pitched in to help us, but they were able to help us lend a hand to our friends at the Cathy Freeman Foundation. We spent a busy morning decorating to do a makeover that mattered. Excellent work guys!
We were overwhelmed to receive some much needed and practical gifts from an amazing leadership team at Visy. Not only did they lend a hand at our m.a.d. house premises, but they also gave us some special gifts. One in particular will come in very handy – a fantastic sewing machine to help us turn some of our rescued fabric into usable gifts for our care packs. A very special thanks to the fold at Lincraft who also helped made that happen.
The m.a.d.woman Foundation was thrilled to partner with Foodbank to get an awesome bunch from Flight Centre putting together hampers and treat packs to help more than 1000 people in need. It was another busy day at the office #makingadifference!
Huge acts of generosity and some hard work resulted in hundreds of hampers for families in need thanks to our friends at Kellogg’s. Not only did Kellogg’s donate food but staff chipped in with some amazing donations of gifts for a huge number of kids doing it tough. An inspirational effort team!
Team m.a.d.woman was thrilled to deliver some special gifts and treats this festive season to women and children fleeing domestic violence. A huge thanks to the awesome team from Visy who wrapped and packed and our friends at Kellogg’s and Mondalez who contributed gifts and yummy chocolates. The feedback from the recipients was very moving – most of the kids and mothers would otherwise have received nothing.
Kids supported by CanTeen Australia in Melbourne have something to smile about thanks to an inspirational team from Visy who joined us in making a difference. Not only did our team do some amazing decorating, but they went well and truly over and above their brief. By the end of the day, the waiting room was also fitted out with a TV, sound system and Playstation. Teens with cancer and their siblings now have a bit more to make them smile while waiting for much needed support. The effort was overwhelmingly great. Call us super impressed!
Forget The Block and House Rules – here’s some mini home renovations to make you smile. Teams in Melbourne got creative at the Make a difference in May event, decorating rooms to go to charities for fundraising or for children they support. At the event, the teams made more than 55 beanies and booties to go to some of our youngest citizens doing it tough during winter.
Two amazing charities dealing with disadvantaged youth, Whitelion and Open Family Australia, recently merged and moved to new premises. m.a.d.woman took in a team from Sonoco to help give the place a bit more colour. By the time the team had finished, the walls were filled with inspirational words and testimonials.
